What happens when you call
The number reaches us, not a national call centre. If the question can be answered on the phone, such as how to release a door when the power is out or whether a blinking sensor light is something you can fix yourself, it will be. If the door needs someone to look at it, your details go to one local garage door company that covers your area, and they call you to arrange a visit.
What to have ready
None of it is required, but it makes the call shorter and the first quote closer to the final one.
- What the door is doing, and whether you heard a bang
- Whether the door is open or closed right now, and whether a car is inside
- Single or double door, and whether it is insulated
- The opener brand if you can see it on the motor cover
- Your ZIP code, because that decides which company covers you
- A photo of the springs above the door, if you can take one
What cannot be settled on the phone
A firm price. Spring size depends on the door's weight, and whether cables and rollers need replacing at the same time depends on what they look like. A realistic range is fair to ask for; a fixed number sight unseen usually changes on the day.
Calls are recorded
You will hear a short announcement before the call connects saying the call may be recorded. Recordings exist so the details of a job are not misremembered later. If you would rather not be recorded, use the form.

Can I call on a weekend?
Calls are answered Monday to Saturday. Messages left outside those hours are returned the next morning, and an urgent stuck-open door should be said as much in the message.
I live out of state. Can I still arrange a repair?
Yes. Give the property address and how a technician will get in, and the company will quote by phone or email before doing anything.
